CASEWORK SUPERVISOR

Office location in Red Earth Creek, AB

Summary:

KTC Child & Family Services are seeking a self-motivated, professional individual to fill the position of a full time Casework Supervisor who has a sincere commitment to children’s services.  Supervision, mentor, advise and direct assessment and case management, concurrent planning apprehension of children, referrals, court work, permanency planning and community liaison duties. Work with various other government and community agencies to provide services to children, adolescents and families to help meet the child and youths unmet needs.  This is a challenging opportunity that requires an individual with well–developed interpersonal and supervisory skills, time management and good organizational skills, strong character and the ability to work with children, adolescents and their families.  Flexible schedule as this position requires participation in an on call/after hour’s rotation schedule (evenings and weekends).

It would be vital that the incumbent possess strong interviewing and assessment skills, the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and written and have counselling and problem solving skills.  KTC Child & Family Services use the Signs of Safety methodology and practice tools.

Duties:

  1. Provides direction, consultation & supervision to the child protection personnel on all case activities.
  1. Assists with the monitoring and evaluating of the delivery of the Child & Family Services program and its staff.
  1. The Casework Supervisor is a key member of the team and may be asked to carry out additional duties & activities related to the effectiveness & successful implementation of the C & FS program.

Education:

Bachelor of Social Work or related undergraduate university degree or 2 year social work diploma mandatory with minimum of 3 years child & family services supervision experience.  Must have Enhancement Delegation Training with a minimum 5 years frontline child intervention experience, Casework Practice Model training and CICIO training.

Additional requirements: 

Current & valid Alberta driver’s license; own vehicle or access to vehicle with $2M auto liability insurance; Please submit Intervention Record Check, Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) clearances and a copy of diploma/degree with resume; submit to oath of confidentiality; personal telephone or access to telephone; current first aid certificate (training will be provided if required); be willing to adhere to agency drug & alcohol policy; ability to speak and/or understand the Cree language a strong asset.  Alcohol and drug testing pre-screening will apply.
