Timelines for Medical Travel requests

PTFN Health has received a letter from the Director of First Nations and Inuit Health Branch dated August 20^th that outlines the following:

• Due to the increase in calls for non-urgent medical travel the Edmonton Referral Unit we are asking that First Nations Health units advise their members that all requests and documentation be submitted within 2 business days in advance of the departure time. Please ensure your documentation is brought forward to PTFN Health within the time line outlined.

• Documents received in less than 24 hours create workflow problems for the ERU staff and may impact clients which will result in the rescheduling of trips.
