Good Evening Members,

In response to the Alberta Government’s new COVID-19 restrictions that have been put in place throughout the province, the Peerless Trout First Nation (PTFN) would like to remind community members that we need to stop the spread of COVID-19. We ask that all PTFN members adhere to the new restrictions that were released on November 24th, 2020.
In addition to the restrictions put in place by the Government of Alberta our First Nations will be implementing some of our own new restrictions. The following are the new restrictions within PTFN effective November 30th.
·        There will be no public access to community buildings without an appointment. Should you need to make an appointment please call the receptionist(s) before coming into any of the PTFN offices.
·         Checkpoint personnel will be monitoring all in and out traffic
·         Non-Residents will not be allowed to enter the communities after 10 PM.
·         Curfew will remain in place from 12 AM to 6 AM.
PTFN members have all worked very hard to keep COVID-19 out of our communities. With rising numbers in Alberta daily this is not the time to relax our efforts. PTFN will be handing out information packages within the next few days so that people understand the new restrictions. If anyone needs assistance or has questions regarding the new restrictions, please contact the Band Office.  We are also in the process of posting some support programs that have been approved by Chief & Council. Please stay tuned for information on these programs.
We kindly ask that you stay at home as much as possible and limit travel to and from the community. This is the best way to stop COVID-19 from entering our First Nation.  Chief & Council would like to sincerely thank all community members for their dedication and hard work in keeping COVID-19 at bay. We ask you to continue your efforts to keep yourselves and your families safe.
These restrictions will remain in place until December 15, 2020. On this date the Alberta Government will be reviewing the statistical data and will provide an update on these added restrictions.
Thank you
Jason Wigton
PTFN Band Manager & Director of Emergency Services
