COVID 19 COMMUNITY UPDATE

I would just like to take a moment to remind all Community members of Peerless Lake and Trout Lake to please remember to follow all the COVID 19 safety measures that the Nation and Alberta Health Services have in place. Just because we have not seen any cases in the Communities does not mean that you should become complacent in following the regulations. Following these rules helps to stop the spread of COVID, which has no vaccine, and to protect the communities.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERYONE TO HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID

In recent days we have seen the numbers of COVID cases rising daily, and how it is affecting these communities, this includes deaths caused by COVID. Chief & Council and Administration are pleading to the Communities to follow the rules in place. We are asking that if community members are travelling outside the communities that they are diligent in protecting themselves from contracting COVID. For those that are travelling to affected outbreak areas, we ask that you please isolate for 10 days at home and avoid visiting within the communities and please get a COVID test.

We encourage all residents to remain following the Alberta Health Guidelines for Social Distancing, wear a mask when possible and wash your hands often.

COVID 19 testing is also available for all residents and you do not need to be showing signs of COVID 19 (Asymptomatic) to have the test done. Please call the Health Center if you would like to get a test. If you are having symptoms please call 811 or visit www.albertahealthservices.ca

Thank you
