Peerless Trout First Nation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Wellness Coordinator to join the Health Programs and Services Department on a one-year term cover-off basis. The Community Wellness Coordinator will support community members by coordinating wellness programs, activities, resources, and services that promote physical, emotional, mental, cultural, and social well-being. The successful candidate will work closely with the Health Programs team, community members, families, Elders, service providers, and other community departments.

Responsibilities:


• Coordinate and support community wellness programs, activities, workshops, and events.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and wellness initiatives within the community.
• Provide information and referrals to appropriate health, social, and community services.
• Build positive relationships with community members and service providers.
• Support individuals and families in accessing available wellness resources and programs.
• Assist with planning and organizing community wellness events and activities.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records, reports, attendance records, and program documentation.
• Assist with program evaluations, surveys, statistics, and reporting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Health Programs staff and other PTFN departments.

Qualifications:


• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Social Work, Health Promotion, Community Wellness, Human Services, Indigenous Studies, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Previous experience working in a health, wellness, social services, community, or First Nations setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals, families, Elders, and community members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, community wellness, and local community needs is considered an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is preferred.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain required certifications and training.
• Must provide a clear RCMP Police Information Check and a Child Intervention Check.
• Must provide a copy of drivers’ license, and current drivers abstract.
