Commercial Driver

Peerless Trout First Nation is seeking a reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious Commercial Driver to join the Public Works Department. The Commercial Driver will be responsible for operating PTFN vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently while supporting Public Works operations and community services. The successful candidate will assist with transportation, hauling, deliveries, maintenance activities, and other duties as assigned by the Public Works Director.

Responsibilities:
• Operate PTFN vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Transport materials, supplies, equipment, and personnel as required.
• Assist with road maintenance, snow removal, and other Public Works activities.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are kept clean and properly maintained.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety procedures, and PTFN policies.
• Assist Public Works staff with general maintenance and labour duties as required.
• Complete required paperwork, logs, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence is preferred.
• Class 1 Driver’s Licence would be considered an asset.
• Clean and acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Previous commercial driving or Public Works experience is an asset.
• Ability to safely operate trucks, and other equipment.
• Strong knowledge of safe driving practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physical duties associated with Public Works.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude are assets.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
