Security Worker
Full-Time Permanent Position
Trout Lake, Alberta

Peerless Trout First Nation is seeking one (1) reliable, responsible, and community-minded Security Worker to patrol and monitor Nation facilities located in Trout Lake. The Security Worker will play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for community members, visitors, and Nation property by conducting regular patrols, responding to incidents, and reporting safety concerns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regular patrols of Peerless Trout First Nation facilities and surrounding properties in Trout Lake.
  • Monitor buildings and grounds for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, vandalism, and safety hazards.
  • Secure buildings by checking doors, windows, gates, and alarm systems.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and security concerns.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, daily logs, and patrol records.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, and property damage to the appropriate department.
  • Provide courteous assistance and information to staff, community members, and visitors as required.
  • Work cooperatively with emergency services and law enforcement when necessary.
  • Follow all Peerless Trout First Nation policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous security experience is considered an asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset.
  • Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically capable of walking, standing, and patrolling for extended periods.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be willing to use a personal vehicle while conducting patrols.
  • Must reside in Trout Lake.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is considered an asset.
  • Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
