PT CAMP OPERATIONS MANAGER

This is a full-time Permanent Position for the Peerless Trout First Nation and will report to the Band Manager, Sharon Laboucan. PTFN is seeking for a highly motivated, dedicated and responsible person to fill the position as the PT Camp Operations Manager; and Responsible for the overall management of PTFN CAMP properties to satisfy the requirements of Peerless Trout First Nation, to preserve and increase the value and integrity of the properties and to meet the financial objectives of the ownership and management.

An operations manager must possess several prerequisite skills and qualifications to adequately accomplish their range of tasks efficiently, including:

Problem-solving skills, written and oral communication skills, negotiating skills, customer service orientation, planning and organizing, attention to detail, resource management, data collection and management, supervisory skills, financial planning, auditing, and budgeting skills and good working knowledge of building and property maintenance and management. The successful candidate must be orientated and trained for 3 months by Helen Starr.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Manage and administer all services and properties
  2. Manage the on-going maintenance of PT Camp properties
  3. Manage tenant relations
  4. Manages the human resources of the PT Camp Department
  5. PT CAMP Administrative Duties
  6. Manage all PT CAMP Financial

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary coursework in Business Administration or Management;
  • 2 years management experience along with 3 years property and maintenance management experience;
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered;
  • Understanding of PTFN cultural and political environment and roles and responsibilities of Band Management/Chief and Council
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to handle and conduct situations and personalities under confrontational conditions;
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word and MS Excel, Email and Internet, electronic and paper filing, and data base systems;
  • Ability to prepare reports, Meetings, Agendas, and memo’s;
  • Good organization skills:
  • Stress management and time management skills;
  • Effective verbal, listening, written communication skills:
  • Ability to work well as a team leader;
  • The ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset;
  • Willing to sign an Oath of Confidentiality prior to commencing employment;
  • RCMP Police Information Check for and as requested to be reviewed every 12 months;
