Human Resources Administrator
FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION
Reporting to the Band Manager, the Human Resources Administrator provides human resource administrative support to the Band Manager, and to PTFN Directors and Managers so that PTFN can efficiently and effectively hire the best candidates for all vacant positions and so that Human Resources processes provide employees and managers with the resources and support they need. Specializing in the areas of recruitment, attendance, performance management and records management, this role provides support, information, and guidance to PTFN employees in regards to employment policies, human resource processes and federal and provincial legislation.
RESPONSIBLITIES
1. Responsible for recruitment support:
- Assists hiring managers with the creation of position descriptions, creates job postings, posts positions on social media, screens applicants, sets up interviews, conducts reference checks and prepares offer letters.
2. Responsible for Performance Evaluation Support:
- Maintains annual PTFN performance evaluation spreadsheet; tracks receipt and completion of signed evaluations; places completed evaluations on personnel file.
3. Human Resource Records Management:
- Maintains master copies of personnel files; ensures that all required documents are placed on file appropriately; storage and retention of employee files and recruitment files.
4. Administrative Support, Attendance Management and Organizational Chart Maintenance:
- Tracks PTFN leaves via spreadsheet; creates and maintains PTFN organizational charts;
- Provides Human Resource administrative support for Band Manager and PTFN Directors and Managers.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Completion of Grade 12;
- 2 + years administrative experience in an office setting;
- Training or education in Human Resource Management would be an asset;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and be impartial;
- Reliable with strong organizational skills;
- Detail oriented with effective planning and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a professional demeanor;
- Must sign an Oath of Confidentiality prior to commencing employment;
- Ability to understand/speak Cree an asset;
- Must provide an RCMP Police Information Check.
